Ram Air hood...good for carbs to?

I was just wondering. What would be better for a carburated engine. A cowl or a Ram Air hood? I figured that they both would have the same effect with an open element air filter...What do you guys think?

Either one would be good as long as you can seal off the carb from the engine bay with a airbox that gets the air from the hood opening.
