t-top into a mono top?
I think I noticed a gentleman who had no pillar in the middle... I guess that would be called a mono top lol anyways I remember he just posted somethign up recently, looks like hes doing a turbo set up. anyone got any ideas how to do this, if at all? I think it would ook nice having that and the top being made of something other than glass, because i Think the apperance of a hardtop, looks awsome. you can see more color, just because there is so much glass on these cars

That would be me
easy to take out.
better have at least SFC's. I have a 8point cage going in because of the motor also.
Must have fabricating skills to make the top. and pull it off so it looks good and came form the factory that way.

so obviously its do able..... lol... well I am a perfectionist so I can probably fabricat anything.. however.... it'll take me a really long time sometimes lol. however i dont drive the car.
what did you do, a fiberglass cover? I know I'm giogn to have to get sfc anyways for my 406, a roll cage would be a good idea, but I seriously dont see me getting that right now, or before I start driving it with the 406..... think it woudl still be suitable?
cheers

Its defantly an eye catcher, head turner and something very rare to have. Serisouly though, theres what less than 15 known targa top 3rdgen fbodys in the world. Not only the appearance factor but the unique factor is blazing thru the roof with a targa topped 3rdgen
I dont think i'll be putting in a 8 point cage in my targa, only if I deem it nessicary after testing out how the car feels with my custom full subframe setup and the tbar cut out. If it feels a little loose then i'll put a 8 point cage in there. Might have to since I'm going to put racing seats and 5 point harnesses in.
I finnaly got me a portable sand blaster and when ever I get enough free time and I finish fabbing up the rear floor pan i'll get to town of blasting the floorpans top and bottom. Then I can make the frame and cut out the tbar.
Lol looks like i'm going to implant a V10 between my fenders
and supercharge it. Just have to find something sutable for it, preferably a chevy V10. If not then I know a viper will fit but finding one would have its own challenges too.

What Chevy had a V10 in it?....and I have seen that Viper engine third gen somewhere looked pretty slick, but I kind of see it as pointless when you can build a small block with just about equal performance for a lot less or drop in a modded LSI. When it comes to cool factor I think a nicely built small block that is detailed is just as nice. Not to mention its kind of wrong to put a Dodge engine in a Chevy too, but I won't get much into that =) I also wouldn't see the need to run a targa with an 8 point cage...verts run fine without any of that, I'm sure some sub frames would be fine with a little extra reinforcement.

That would be completely crazy...I love it. Also, I didn't know that chevy made a v10? Cadillac has that new V16..try to steal one of those

I think chevy or GM may have made a v10 maybe not for one of their own models but for another make who used their motor but i'm probally wrong. It would most likely be a block maker's V10 that i'd buy and not go with a brand specific engine, or I could go the 502/502 supercharged route.
its good that I have quite a while to think about what engine will go inbetween the fenders.

Verts also have an extra support along the complete rails of the car. I have one here also. As is with SFC's the TARGA twists if you give it a good shake. a little more then a vert.
The 8 point cage is a MUST for me. No way around it with a 418 and Huffin at least 12psi of boost. Esp now. since Plans have changed from 2 small turbos to one LARGE turbo capable of 800+ rwhp on a 350.
Mike, Glad to see your making some progress on yours. I just bought the new turbo. Im ordering my Tubular k member and A Arms This week. I just scored a comeplete 4thGen TA int. I have all new carpet. etc.. Tons of parts layin around. Just need to get off my a$$ and do it now.
