Need a paint code

My bumpers are going to the body shop to be painted on Monday, but I cant find my RPO code sticker. Can anyone get me the paint code for a 1989 Black IROC? Please dont come in here and say "Black is black, just paint it black", because its not.

look on your RPO sheet, it will tell you what your paint code is. it will be two numbers followed by a U.

ie mine is 98U

from what i can gather, 41U is what the black code is. check your rpo sheet to see if you have that code on there. you can find the sheet/sticker inside your center console.

There is a site online where you can find your paint code and PPG paint code (paint manufacturer code is different from GM code) but I think I'll give it to you instead... PPG paint code 9700 is black. Not sure which black, but I am sure it is not metallic and is for 1987 (pretty much the same through 1989). The site is autocolorlibrary.com and you have to select your make and year before you can see your PPG paint code. Other than that, I have no way of knowing what your GM RPO code is for your particular color.

I agree with most of these guys.....

The paint Code on my Black 87 GTA is option code "41U". The WA# or paint code is 8555. and yes on the PPG code is 9700. This is a very common code used on many GM vehicles during our era.
