One thing after another....the Z28 get's damaged again
I'm just about ready to get out of the 3rd generation Camaro's if this kind of stuff keepds happening to every Camaro I've owned. It has been really windy here in central Indiana. Last night, I put my car cover on, then put my car tarp over it. I went outside today to check if it came off....the car cover came off...but the tarp didn't. I undercovered...and the tarp scratched my paint to pieces. At first, it looked like a completely repaint...but...I think we can buff most of it out......just really sucks that I put so much time and money into this car....I clean it every day...and this is what I get....
In the pictures....you see the dull spots? This is over the whole car.....

Sorry bro, I know how you feel on a more minor scale. I wash my car 1-2 times a week, I washed it 3 days ago, right now it is completely covered in yellow pollen with hand prints from my friend dragging her hand down the side. I can't win, it would be completely yellow if I didn't wash it so much, I hate mother nature.

Hey Rebel get a California car duster, they work great on pollen.. my car is like covered by the time I finish drying it so I dust it off every morning..
84 that sucks man, it seems like the more you clean your car the dirtier it gets , but you seem to have the insight on the buffing so I'm sure you can take it out relatively easy.. but its still a pain I know anyways good luck with it.

not that bad don;t freak out just yet. It should buff out you may need to do a little wet sanding first. Ready to freak out hope you paint in thick enought to withstand the buffing.
Should look into a better car cover. California car cover has some great products for outside that does not require the use of additional tarps. Well worth the money.

my car cover wasn't the problem though...it's fine. It's the tarp that was on over my car cover. My car cover blew off and the tarp that was over the car cover stayed on....and just scratched the **** on the surface.....but yeah...It's hard not to freak out over something like this. I know I can fix it...it's just the thought of your investment getting sh*t on....thanks for the idea's and stuff though guys
stick it in a garage next time. btw, you will NEVER EVER get what you put into these cars. believe me. I thought about selling it frequently. although i know once i sell it, i'll want another one.
get a damn garage for it, you complain , i dont feel sorry for ya, im sorry but i dont, get a little garage , they have em for 300 bucks, cover the **** with that . Or store it in a real garage, i see you have some money into the car , so at least get one of those sheds for like 300 bucks.

sorry nolanr0413, but you must be a freakin ***. Yeah, if I had the room, the first thing I would have gotten was a garage. We have over 14 vehicles here at my house...and we have 2 completely restored Impala Super Sports in the garage right now. I do my best on keeping my car very nice...it's a show car...just without a garage. It's not driven in the winter and it's not driven in the rain. About 90% of the time..it sits in my drive way....it is just weird what nature can throw at you. So don't be such a dick..I'm not here to make enemies...just thought I'd share what happened. And believe me, when I get my own place..it will definently have a garage. And if I were to get one of those cheap tarp garages...with the winds we have today...it would have fallen on top of my car..and smashed it to pieces....could have been alot worse.....and I didn't ask for anyone to feel sorry for me...

Get one that fits below the front and rear bumpers and can pull tight really low... no way to blow off. Thread Starter

But the car cover IS the problem if you need a tarp over the top of it. They make car covers in varying degrees to withstand different weather severity. Look into one of the tougher outdoor ones if your current car cover doesn't offer enough protection. Obviously you'll need to get a new one anyway if the current one is able to blow off of the car!

I have a California cover, it fits great. It has come off once or twice in high winds. I don't have the undercar tie down though...I'm gonna look into that.
I have a cover for my Yukon XL (the size of a parachute) and I live in a very high wind area (7,000) windmills down the road. I am lucky in that the wind usually comes from the same direction (west) and I find if I park the vehicle facing the wind, the cover never comes off. My cover is custom with the locking cable underneath. A big help with his size of cover.

There are also car covers made for handling snow. Again, a better quality car cover that actually does what you want it to and what you need it to do would prevent this in the future, without tarps, without blowing off, and without the damage.

That sucks man...but it does look like you can buff a lot of that stuff out. Don't give up, I've always liked your car. If anything get a little econobox to drive around normally especially since you won't get what you want for it...no sense in getting rid of it. Good luck with everything....oh and you should get one of these =)

You may have it bad when you invested so much time and money however I rent and make around $13 an hour [with lots of deductions]. I neglected my ride and I did use it in winter and rain so I let myself in for lots of trouble, however, my dad got me the large truck size cover I guess and the thing ALWAYS seems to blow off and both sides get dirty. I try to pin ends with something to keep them from blowing (no fancy lock, etc.) but even in large size they don't leave much in the corners to work with. This problem just came up again last week, almost funny, but my car is parked next to melting snow and the cover blew into a large puddle of water, mud and crud!!!! I need tips on cleaning the cover alone, I don't have the space to spread it out inside
