overhead console

hi, i finally got my iroc, and have some extra money to spend. i am looking at the overhead console, and found a few. I spent alot more money ($8000) to get an all origional car (origional owner, paint, motor). my question is, do i have to drill into my t-top T thingy or does it get mouted another way with brackets or something? i dont have rpo codes for it, but i think they are cool as hell. any pics would also be great.....thanks albert III

You need to cut a hole in the headliner and use brackets that are already on your car to put it in. You will still need the hardware to put it in, maybe you can get it with the console itself.

You will have to cut the headliner (i added one to my Formula) there is a tech article on this site on how to install one, and since your car did not have one originally, there will be 4 dimples in the metal roof between the t-tops, that will need to be drilled out.
If your worried about keeping the car original or being able to return it to original, just get another headliner that either already had a overhead console or one you can upholster to match your interior and cut that one out.

here's a link to the tech article HERE
