paint question
paint question
i am painting my car and i needed to know if i am supposed to mix paint seperately wit hthe flex additive for the bumper and ground effects or just use the flex additive for all the paint. the reason i ask is i am painting the bumpers on the car because i'm afaid i'll damage them installing them if i paint them seperate. so should i paint them seperate but on the car and them switch to paint without the flex stuff to finish the rest of the car or just use the flex additive on the whole car
you know what flex additive is? it's expensive. so u aren't gonna want to use additive on all ur paint
uh, i won't go into a whole thing and teach u how to paint, but to answer ur questions
paint car w/ color
add flex additive and do bumper covers
clear car
add flex additive and do bumper covers

Most paint systems you only use flex in the primer and the clear, not in the basecoat. Very little flex agent is required, so your typical quart bottle will be more than enough to do the whole car. It won't hurt anything to do the whole car in it; actually, on easily chipped panels (like the hood and front fenders for example) its not a bad idea anyway.

depending on what type felx agent it is, its applied differently, BUlldog for instance, is what we use at my shop, it goes on right b4 the basecoat of paint does, on bumpers and whatnot, so you really cant say until you know what type it is...read the directions maybe....

nope, who da **** told you that....go to a paint shop and ask them for some Bull Dog paint flex additive, you spray that one on right b4 u do the base coat of paint....
ok so after i block sand and everything and its alll cleaned off it'll go coats of primer, wet sand primer then clean it all off again and then spray the bulldog and then do the paint and the clear?

yup, last sand, and clen it, spray bulldog on it, give it 5 mins, do the paint then, 10 mins between coats, 3 coats of paint, then clear, 15 mns between coats...and your done..let it dry for about 15 to 25 hours...
