Freggun Driver Window SHATTERED!!!!!

so i just got done putting new brake shoes on the Z and bleeding all my old (it looked like dirty OIL!!!!) brake fluid and closed my door with the window down. about 5 seconds later me and my 2 uncles heard a shattering noise and come to find out my glass shattered inside my door!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has this ever happened to anyone and would anyone know why it happened. i didnt close it hard and it didnt do it immediatly. was it hot? sometimes when air expands inside a vehicle there is nowhere for the air to expand, it will find the weakest point and will break it to escape... thats the only thing i can think of... ohter than that, got me

It isn't too bad. There are 4 to 6 rivets that you have to drill out. They have round white cicular pieces of plastic around them. Drill them out, pull out the plasic pieces, clean out the broken class, reinstall the plastic parts on the new windshield and get some bolts or a rivet gun.

i build doors on an assembly line, sometimes the guy before me forgets to put bolts in and when the window lowers it falls out of the regulator.
im thinking either the glass fell out or somthing broke in the door to break the glass

Hi 85berlinetta2.8.
How difficult is it to build doors on the line? No doubt you have a time limit? Access inside the doors must be very tight these days. How can the guy before you forget to put the bolts/rivets in!!?
Your job is one of those mystery jobs to me! It's done, and the car appears! We just tend to see just the finished product and not the construction. Whats the job like?

Andy.

we get 71 seconds or so to do put a few parts on the door, all our tools and parts are really close and refills on the parts arrive 'just in time'
its easy to forget to do somthing when youre doing 400 door builds a day. ive put the wrong color door mirror on cars all the time, wrong interior door liner....
if we get behind we can hit a buzzer for help.
i think it takes 8 hours for a car to be welded together and painted assembled and spit out the other end
the only fun part of the job is the overtime repair when you see all the screwed up cars and get to drive them through the plant. but that gets old fast.
oh and you ever drive a right-hand-drive car? i almost ripped off the turn indicator trying to get it in gear the models we ship overseas get some pretty crazy options. like windows that wont pinch your fingers, mirrors that fold in, their radio stations only go from 88.8 to 98.8 ??? they always had new leather and heated seats..
its not a fun job.
this week is my last week after 3 years.

no.. i already said it wasnt

but i did learn alot about quality, and how a car can be torn apart and put back together a few times to correct problems. sometimes vehilces get damaged and fixed, interior parts, paint but if its anything like a non removable quarter the company writes it off. thers alot of frankenstien vehicles in the repair bay.. sort of scary.
