Depends on the size of your wheel... tell me what tires you have on there now and I can probably figure it out.

i put 265/50/15 like 4 days ago and it looks like theres still plently of space for a wider tire.

Assuming you have stock wheels, 15 x 7... I'd never put on tires any wider than that. They are gonna be too wide for the wheel. As far as tire width and clearance, you can easily fit a 17 x 9.5" wheel with 285 wide tire with no clearance problems. i don't think you will have problems with your 15 x 7 wheel.

You don't want the tread width to be wider than the rim itself. It might look badass, but traction will suffer with the wider tire because you can't get an even footprint.

Not to sure on the 285 section, you'd have to punch it into a tire calc along with sidewall profile and rim size and see what it says.

If you put 285's on, could that only fit in the rear?

285 will fit... barely. But I would stick with the 265... those tires are perfect for the wheel they are on. If you put 285 on the front, you will probably have some rubbing problems during hard cornering.

I know you can fit up to a 295 back there. I had them on a 8" rim, but like I said traction will suffer. Depending on backspacing, typically the widest you can run in front is a 245 if you're going to maintain stock tire height.

What would the side wall size need to be with 265's. And would you be able to lower it with that wide a tire?
