I was nover a fan of the Black T/A spoilers from 82-86, I really think the body color ones look cleener.

He is probably talking about the 85&86 Trans Am with the -optional- aero wing.

Leave it black... I think that spoiler can be pulled off as an accent to the black wheels and t-tops. (im partial-see sig)

Actually I thought the 82-83 T/A had a black spoiler (not sure about 1984 tho), and the Aero Spoiler from 85-86 was also black Stock...

'82 and early '83 had the black spoiler and mirrors. '84 had body color.

I'd paint it white... The black aero wing spoiler only looks good on cars it didn't come on originally..

If it was a base model or formula, I'd say leave it black since it goes well with the black bumper inserts and yields good contrast, but thats just my opinion..

ya, I'd definatly say go for body color on a TA/GTA. But what year it that spoiler? I hope its not like my 86 aero wing, you wont be able to paint that one, itll just crack and peel off

I dont have any problems with cracking and pealing... Make sure you get the flex agent in the primer and clear coat.

85 & 86 Spoilers had a tecture, its the standard Vinyl tecture that GM used on everything, like the little black bumpers on the Base Firebird & Formula from 85 thru 1990.
