Depending on what it looks like under and behind on the door. I would first sand out the area, and use a spot sand blaster to remove the rust. and depending on how had you can either cut out and weld in a patch.. would on the door would be interesting to make sure the panel doesn't warp. or use a bit of fiberglass over it instead. and finish it off and repaint .. As for the rear fender part. it's a bit tough to tell .. but probably the same process as mentioned above.

and this is the last spot. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the best way to get rid of these spots would be and how would I do that?

Spot sand blasting is the best way to tell how bad it is after the rust is removed. If you sand it you can end up sanding through high spots and actually hiding some of the rust.

for the wheel well, i'd just cut it well above the infected area and either get another quarter to weld in its place, or mold one. for rot spots you MUST cut away the infected pieces or they will keep returning. the others look small enough to sand. i'd have that done asap, rot spreads quickly. after owning a rotted car, i will never even think about buying one again. i'd rather have a perfect frame then a 10 second rotted car

what is "rot?" I've only recently become interested in this stuff, so please don't laugh. I know what rust is (duh) but I'm not familiar with the term rot used in regards to metal.

Really bad rust that has eaten away at the metal. As in a rusted hole.

POR-15 works great on rust but yours is in some highly visible areas. I would also find a donor car and cut out some metal and weld it in place. If you cant do that try getting a couple quotes from a body shop.

its not the same. rust is the flaky stuff that can be sanded off. rot is when it eats a hole through the body and becomes thin.

por15 is the greatest rust prevention paint out there. it can't be used for body panels though. mostly just undercarrage and rear ends. they say it loses its potentcy when exposed to sunlight, thats why i call it gizmo paint.

You can use por15 on body panels, but you have to prime and paint over top of it. If you leave the paint exposed to sunlight the UV rays ruin its effectiveness against the rust.

if your quarter looks that bad, i would check the floor boards of the car. i por15ed my whole undercarrage, including the rear end, to insure that it would not rot away. i suggest you get under there and hit the floor boards with an angle grinder and a knot brush at the end, soak them in metal ready, and por15 the whole under side. it takes a long time, but its WELL worth it. next time you go under there, or bring the car to the shop for work, you'll be able to see yourself in the reflection of the floor boards i'm very pleased with the por15 product and wouldn't use anything else on the under side of my car after seeing the results.
