Trunk Lock cylinder removal ????

Trunk Lock cylinder removal ????

Hey Hey

anyone know how to remove trunk lock cylinder from my 92 convertible,,,, its the white plastic housing for the electric popper
that I cant figure out it needs to be removed before the cylinder will come out.

Transmission: WC-T5, WC-T5, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27
I'm assuming it is like the coupes. Use a standard flat tip screwdriver to pop off the off-white plastic piece from the lock cylinder. The lock cylinder is held in place with a spring tempered clip. Use that same screwdriver to pry off the clip.

your saying the white plastic housing should just POP off the cylinder with a screwdriver ? no pin to push or anything just pop off ?

I tried doing that just not very hard, didnt want to break it
I want to reuse on my 89 convertible.

Just try not to mangle it too badly. It has a couple of internal tabs that fit into a groove on the OD of the lock cylinder. You just have to pry those internal tabs free.
