Shaving antenna

Got a few ?'s. Can i just weld in a piece of metal and fill it in with body filler or is there an easier ay to shave it? Also, where can i find the kit that puts it in the window? Is that what everyone does when they shave it?

If yo uknow how to weld and know how to do minor body work...shaving an antenna is a breeze. I just welded the hole up, the used duraglass, bondo, the glaze to finish it...as simple as that. I have no antenna of any kind right now..I'd like to know where to get one too....

my friend shaved his antenna and then went to autozone or something and got an antenna with the wire on it ran the wire through the dash and then fished the antenna into the defrost vent, he said has pretty good stations and defrost works fine.

but if u really want one for ur window go to http://www.jcwhitney.com

welding is the best way to shave the antenna. when i shaved mine, i almost bought an antenna that goes in the windsheild, but i just ended up putting the antenna inside the dash. i get extremly good reception still

save your money, cut the base of your stock antenna and put it under the dash....works great!

The easiest way is to buy a GM replacement fender. They DONT have the hole, you have to drill it(if desired).

I put my ant. under the dash pad. They do make a real thin one that u can put in the head liner. But mine works fine under the das pad

What i did was went to circuit city, bought a remote antenna /w a booster. The antenna part is a box that messures out to be 4x1x1(LxWxH). I mounted it to the upper part of my windshield that is not visible from the outside. It works great!

I was thinking of mounting my antenna in the engine bay underneath the fender lip.

Mine is "shaved" i guess, i put on new fenders and never drilled for the antenna
