E-brake lever gets hot
I have a 1991 z28 that I just recently bought. Quite a bit of heat radiates from around the hole where the e-brake lever goes through the console. (Enough to give girls something to complain about when they ride in the car). Is this normal, or is there something I can do? My car came stock with an automatic, but it had a WC t-5 swapped in. Also I have twin 2.5" cats into a 3" pipe. I dont have the A/C working yet so I'm trying to cut some of the interior heat
Thanks- Jimmy

You have the heat shields for that passenger side area over the catalytic converters in place, correct??

Is the boot that goes on the floor to the shifter there? not just the boot that goes from the console to the shifter.

One of the cat's is missing both of the aluminum covers. they were held on with big hose clamps, but they rattled tons so I took them off. There was still a heat problem last summer with both of the covers in place. As for the shifter boot, I have both of the shifter boots in place.
