Make them next day air it to you, then return the other one. They know they screwed up so it shoulod be no problem. No matter how you try that is not gonna fit right and you won't be happy. when I did my carpet it took 1 hour, no cutting except shifter area. This looks like it could be a major project if you try to convert. good luck

I just swapped the interior from my '91 RS into my '84 Z28. My '84 looked way worse than your car! The hardest part for me was removing my '91's headliner without destroying it.

Now I dont know if they are going to trade with me right there, or if I am going to have to wait another 10 days for them to custom cut another carpet piece. I guess we will see.
I should have posted some pics of this 4th gen carpet when installed in the car and trimmed up a little bit. It looked a little better but still HORRIBLE molding. There were "bubbles" and "layers" (whatever the terms are) all over the place simply because the carpet isnt molded for a 3rd.
And after looking at some close up pics of 4th gen interior, it looks like a 4th gen has straighter and flatter edges than a 3rd - like a 3rd is a little more picky.

Well dammit, the longer plugs are not actually water drain plugs, but plugs GM puts in before they lay the carpet down. The reason the holes are there is for the manufacturing process (rods inserted upwards to keep the body from falling off the assembly line).
GM only sells these plugs with complete fenders (which they dont make anymore). So probably no luck finding them.

Found them at Hawks. Ordered 4. They told me they were used, but would come cleaned up.
Well they sent three, one of which was totally wayyy too big and obviously not for the car. So that left me with two, and I just dug up the other 2 I had in the trash and made use of them.
I installed the new rear back for the rear seats. The left side latches find, but the right sits too low and wont latch all the way. Not sure why.
Oh yea and a piece of advise - install your stereo wires WHILE PUTTING INT HE CARPET. I have to go undo all the interior trim now for re-wire.

If you go back & look at my pics without the carpet, on the driver's side you can kinda see some of my wiring going to the back

It was about 300 bucks which included front and rear (from salesco.com - I wouldnt buy from them again though). I havnt put rear in yet. Doesnt need it that bad. Plus Im tired of the car sitting in the garage. Here are some pics I took about 30 mins ago.
Havnt put on door panels yet since they are totally ripped on the carboard. New ones on the way I guess.

The 4th gen seats are much better. They just feel more sturdy and hold you in position better. The 3rds felt sloppy and dead.

Im doing the same job to my truck (selling bench seat, just bought some bucket seats, new carpet, etc) and they sent me extended cab carpet instead of standard cab. Up front the carpet matches the floor pans perfect... it just extends too far back. Im not sending back another carpet set this time, so Im going to just trim it up.
