Leak in fire wall, help please
Hello,
__________Could you help me please? I have an 83 Camaro that has several spots that have rusted out in my firewall area on drivers side. I cleaned out the rust, filled it with inflatable foam, and then had it professional sealed with undercoating on engine and passanger side, the person gave it two coats, but when I wash the car, it still leaks inside. I tried the aerosol cans of undercoating at my local autoparts dealer, to no avail(the products are good), but here is what I think is the problem. The leak is just below my brake booster that is mounted to my firewall, and when applying it, I think we cannot get the undercoating in a small spot under the booster, because it is almost inaccessible. I have an idea, but no one here can help me, possible you. If I had a nozzle that had a flexible hose,( like the cans of tire sealer) I could just run the hose into the area below the booster, and just fill it with undercoating. I am sure it would take care of the problem, except, no one seems to make a nozzle that has a hose/or is adaptable for one. I tried a small plastic tube(similar to wd40 tube),hooked it to a flexible larger tube---but it leaked bad at the joints of the tubes , a real mess). The main problem is having something flexible that can hook onto this style of aerosol can nozzle. Maybe you have another idea I have not thought of. Thanks so much for your help,

It would help a lot if you had some pictures to clearly show what you're describing. But, I thought inflatable foam was not to great for rust... I could be wrong though. But, If it were me and i had a hole somewhere in my firewall, I would rip out the carpet and dash. Then seal it with por15. Apply "por putty," Then give it another coat of por 15. I'm not to familiar with the methods you have taken. But do the job right, take the dash out and find the source. While your at it, I would also check your rockers on each side and the floorpans.

just wanted to add: while you're in there inspect your drains and make sure they aren't obscured by road dirt, etc.. They can cause leakage via water backing up with nowhere to go. Is your car a T-top model?

umm lets see go inside the car and disconect the brake pedal and remove the booster 4 bolts 2 brake lines and a clip on the brake pedal.
now you wil be able to see what is going on and won;t gunk up the rod going to the booster. it would be nice for the brakes to work when you step on the pedal, i don;t know how hard or sticky that stuff is your spraying but i would not get it on the moving parts.
