dumb question of the week.

So what is that extra antenna hole near the gas tank on the left side of my Firebird for???

I will assume an antenna but was there some sort of factory option for a CB or something??? I though it was strange but didn't realize it was a hole till the chrome plug popped out with little effort.

I just wonder what they would of put there at the factory. If I shave my front fender antenna it may end up back there.

I'm not exactly sure how they were mounted or what years had them, but some cars had the locking gas cap door option. Just a thought there Gumby!!!

Did some checking and the lock for the locking fuel door is in the door itself so that is not it.

Well I guess if it ain't factory someone at least did it nice. It looks like a factory hole as its nice and even. The inside edge is rolled and smooth. Don't see signs of any cables inside though.

But if anything it is a nice place to move the stock antenna to.
They should be on the back of the car n e ways.
The only use the front fender as its easier and less cable.
