91-92 Camaro fenders
Make sure I am correct:
The only difference (that I know of and can find) in the 91-92 fenders and the 82-90 fenders is the holes for the ground effects are stamper into the 91-92's.
I am needing a passenger side fender and can only find a used 84ish locally. This is the last piece i need to start the paint/ prep process. New Gm is too high and I have never had luck in aligning aftermarket.

You are correct
All you would have to do is make new holes for the gfx and you are set.

I too have this problem. My 92 came with a nice crunched up fender on the car but also came with a nice new one in the pass seat. The box says for a 82-90. So the fender will fit and look right after all? Do the new holes for the ground effects need to be made in the fender or the gfx? Also the junkyard beside my house has a 83 camaro with an IROC looking bumper on it. Mine is toast and the junkyard owner said he would take $100 for the bumper and headlight bar. I live down the street from F-Body Motorsports and they said the bumper would fit mine with no problem. So is the only thing diff. about the bumper the placement of the gfx bolt holes like the fender?

k, most people believe they are the same other than the ground effect holes, but i will say, my 87 camaros is different than my friends 91 camaro, its So un noticable that almost no one will realize it, unless ur really really looking close,

Well anyone know? I don't want to make my car look stupid by putting a different bumper on it if it is not going to look right. New ones are too expensive and my local junkyards are low on third gen parts. F-Body Motorsports is kinda pricey too.

The 82-90 fender will work fine on your 92. You will have to make new holes in the fender for the gfx.
If the 83 has an Iroc bumper cover it will work on your car. Any camaro bumper cover will work, some may just look weird. But if its from an Iroc, that is the same style that came on the 91-92's so it would be the correct cover to use.

Thanks man, the car is either an 83 or and 88 the label on the door was kind of faded. It looks like an IROC bumper to me, I used to have a 82 and the bumper did not look like the one one this car. I do not think the car is an IROC though, the Ground effects say Z-28. Did they make a regular Z-28 from 85-90 or just the IROC-Z? Any other way to tell what year the car is? I just hope it works becuase I can get that bumper and the headlight bar for $100 which seems to be a really good deal. Does anyone have any pics of the different year bumpers?

Ok, I think I just answered my question. I looked though the readers rides and noticed some things. 82 -84 front ground effects had the little holes cut in them in the middle. 85-89 front ground effects were solid across the front with no holes in them. An of course the 91-92 ground effects have the little scoops in them lke mine. Is all of this correct? If so the bumper I found did not have the holes cut in the ground effects. So it should be the 85-90 Z-28 front bumper and would be the right one for my car which is a 92 RS. Am I right?

Yeah it should be the right bumper cover then. Did it have parking lights like the one in the pic? This is the same style you need. Another way you can tell is by the grill. Did it have a Camaro grill or louver grill? Its probably the right one.

Thanks again man, yes it has the parking lights. It looks just like the one in the pic if I remember correctly. It does not have the louver but my 92 does. Does the 82-84 not have the parking lights?

The 82-84's have parking lights. They are just a different style. They are more rectangular and are not flush with the bumper. They are also a little smaller that the ones above.
I dunno maybe I'm lazy or something but instead of cutting the fender I just cut the tab off the GFX and used double sided tape to attach. Was much easier and required less tools.

the early cars with the 3 slits were Sport Coupes.... the Z28s had a solid front... my 82 Z28 did NOT have the little holes.
the easiest way to tell the later bumpers from the earlier ones is to look at the front turn signals.
the early ones had them resessed back...deep.
the later ones, like the sanded red car above have them resessed about a half inch.. almost flush.
edit:
the ground effect on the nose/fenders is also diffrent.
