the actual painted bumper itself, or the airdam under the nose of the car?

the airdam is designed to be that low, and is made flexible to scrape on inclines.

the nose should not be scraping.. if it is, then the car is lowered.... and just has to be driven like a lowered car... go slower, and let the tire touch before the nose (aka go at a angle and crank the wheel.

IF the ground effects are hitting you will see paint missing on the lower part of them, if not its the air dam and that is usual. The sound is bone chilling but you get used to it.

i know i know, lower your car 2", oh wait wrong default answer for this question.. heh
get used to it, its going to hit everything and theres nothing you can do about it unless you want to raise the car or cut off some airdam.. heh

i checked, its both the airdam and stock rs ground effects kit up front. the front end spoiler is getting nasty, dunno, maybe i should take the whole stock rs kit out, i think the car is lowered, not to sure... aww crap.

In Suspension..........

I have a '92 RS convertible w/305 TBI and I also had the same problem. The struts and/or the springs are wasted, as in they are shot.

I replaced the shocks, struts (KYB) and springs (Moog) and it restored the car back to it's original ride height and dramatically improved the ride and handling characteristics.

No more plowing the driveway and scraping the hell out of my bumper cover.

My $0.02 worth.

Steve

Comes natural

My 92 RS does the same thing, most of the time it's the airdam but occasionally my front bumper does the same. But i would rather hear my bumper or airdam drag than my tailpipes. Scared the poo outta me first time they dragged... haven't dragged since either.

Oh by the way, I'm new to the board, I'll try to get my car on the reader's rides sometime soon.

I have noticed that most of the scraped on my front lower spoiler are from mis-judging the amount of room I have when parking head-on with a curb.

Some bright person designed little casters for C4 vettes so the bumper actually rolls up a little instead of being dragged under.

Yeah does anybody know if those casters will work on Camaros noses?

casters for an airdam.... maybe if we could put some sorta spring on them where when they hit something they slide back, but how would we get it to stay put when driving? hmmmm

by casters, you mean wheels, right?

they don't attach to the airdam ....they attach to the underside of the front lower spoiler. Lets see if I have a pic...

Damn....I know I have seen it. Cant find it anywhere online. Oh well.

Could probably fabricate something like what chrome bumpers used to have also. Just a couple verticle rectangles of rubber, cut to fit
