Dropped something down inte heater vent on dash

Its a non magnetic key, and I really need it.

Is there a "easy" way to reach it?

What things need to be removed to get a hand/tool into the air distributor?

/N.

I did the same thing with a dash pad screw and thought it was gone until I replaced my stereo. Pulled out the old stereo and there it was, along with the strong magnet that stuck with a piece of broken string.

These vents must have holes in them, or at least mine does.

I dropped a dash pad screw from the top and it showed up at my feet a week later. There must be holes somewhere.

Re: Dropped something down inte heater vent on dash

Quite an old thread, but doesn't resolve my current issue. What about a socket and extension (from removing my dash)? I tried a magnetic wand, but due to the size of the objects and curves it doesn't seem to be getting to it. Can you remove anything from the bottom, perhaps in back of the radio?

Put a some panty hose over your shop vac's hose and stick it against the vent.
