Those with 93+ rear seats

Did you just trim off the middle metal pieces that held the backrest in place?

You can leave the metal bar.. it doesn't interfere with the seat operation. It would be recommended to paint it to match the carpet however...

By experience... that does not work (which is why I was able to take a pic). The bar is pretty much solid and is intergral with a 'plate' that is spot welded to the trans/driveshaft tunnel in several spots. To 'just smack it out' will bend the hell out of the tunnel metal which, given enough beating will rip eventually.
Proper removal would require drilling all the spot welds so you can break it free with a drill bit for that purpose so you don't drill holes in/through the tunnel.

Well.. I didn't mean it as there's no way in ____ you can do that but, I just know from randomly beating about mine, it didn't give an inch (except the tunnel at the weld points).

It would be best to just cut the prongs off with a sawzall or a die grinder. You would just have that little hump there but that could be blended out with some jute padding. Thats what I did with mine.
