Where to mount my underbody neon switch??
I finally got around to buying a set of White Street Glow Underbody Neons for the Z28....and now...I have to find some where to mount the switch. Any idea's?? Been thinking about mounting it in the center console...but I put my camera...fuses...small tools....stuff like that in there, I wouldn't want to interfere with the switch..but I guess it's a possibility. Anyone have any other idea's? All ideas are welcome. Thanks

I put neons under my seats and put a push-button switch on the lower part of the dash right near the fuse panel. If I want I just kick it with my foot and then turn on.. doesnt get in the way and no one knows how they got turned on.

I woudn't have to use the switch they supplied would I? If I just get a small toggle switch...I could hide it on the drivers side of the console (down low)....just have to drill a small hole..

Or if you are going for the low-key approach, just install a small black toggle switch right above the fuse panel on the driver's side.....

here is one idea..
I could mount the switch under the door lock switches. It would be a flush mount...and I could run all the wires through the door, through the rubber boot, and inside of the car....

or I could mount a simple toggle switch in one of these locations. Noone would really see the switch this way....

i just wired mine up to my original fog light switch..when i put my new front skirt on i had to delete the fog lights so the switch was just there for no reason..
plus if you still have fogs it could be used as a dual switch cuz you dont need you fogs on during the day and the lights are only visiable at night...so it almost seems like the best choice..
although..thats only my opinion..

I really have no where else to put another switch and yes, I'm going to be critical about it because I don't want to make it look out of place. I would really like to have a switch like Flynlows, but there really just isn't just any uniform place to put it.
I would place it where you circled on the door panel, but you may accidentally hit it if it's there........
. I'll probably just mount it there. Last edited by Sickness91Z28; Jul 28, 2004 at 11:20 AM.

White neons are very tasteful though- I bet you change your mind when we get pics.
are there any options like fodlights you dont have that use a on/off swith. if si you could get a stock switch and wire to that. the result would be a stock looking switch that noone other than yourself knows what it does.

do people think that neons are just for r*cers or something?
I've been to many hotrod shows and probably 75% of the old hot rods are running some type off neon lighting. Now, if I were to put maybe purple neons that flashed with music or something...I would consider that kind of r*cey....but white neons....I really don't think....like stated earlier...white is definently tasteful and will really reflect off of my wheels.
I have foglights...I have rear defrost....unless I could wire them up to my foglights or something..it would work. I'll probably just do somemore brain storming.
I have chrome tips out the back..I have a fiberglass hood..I have a stereo system....I have 17 inch wheels....I have a spoiler on my decklid.....I have ground effects....and I will be installing a set of white underbodies....am I considered a r*cer? :nono:

I think a good set of undercar neons and a few interiors accents look cool. As long as ya dont go crazy with it. Im puttin a blue set on my car when its done...Looks good when your parked at a show or the local spot.

that's exactly what I wanted to do...but..on the 90-92 dash boards....you can't because it's not hard plastic...it's the soft vinyl. On the 82-89 models (Camaro's)...that's how I've installed them in the past...but I think I chose a good place under the door locks. Also, I didn't have to run many wires because all of the power was right there...I just spliced into the power door locks
i also have the white neons on my 91 black camaro. i put my switch right below the light switch but if i did it again i'd put it somewhere you couldn't see just because the switch lights up BRIGHT

what about using at switch that some of the earlier cars used for the high beams?? the one on the floor.. then it would be a simple tap with the foot..
