Turn Signal Lever

Hi,
How difficult is it to replace the Turn Signal/ Wiper Lever on the left of the steering wheel on Firebirds. Mine is all faded and I was thinking of getting a new one. I had a look at it before but couldn't see how it comes off.

Thanks,

if it's the same as camaro's, all you have to do is pop off the cover where it goes in to the column and with the lever in the off (center) position, pull it straight out and disconnect the little connector. it might take you five minutes to do it...

Turn signal lever.. Need Help!

I got my Turn signal/ Cruise control lever installed in my 82 Firebird and taking out the old one was okay. The problems are that on the new Lever there is a four wire connector for the cruise and only a three wire on the old one. Could anyone tell me why this could be?. I also accidentally disconnected the full headlights switch from the lever. The headlight switch is at the base of the steering column and a rod runs up to the Turn signal/ Cruise lever. Does anyone know how this connects to the lever?.

Thanks,
