Questions: Interior and Exterior (one of each)

Howdy.

I'm about the paint the '91 Firebird to get rid of the scuffs and dings that are on (I am sure) the original paint. Anyway. I would also like to bring the car to as close to original condition as I can. As such, I've got some questions about some missing pieces in the interior and where to get some info on replacing a decal (or two).

Here is picture number 1:

As you can see, this is *hole* where the rear seatbelt comes out of. It's obvious a piece is missing. What is this piece and is it unique to convertibles or will any '91 have the same hardware?

Picture number 2:

When I get the paint soon, this decal will obviously have to be replaced.

Where can I get this decal? Still more... would it be cheesy to consider the large size firebird decal for the hood that would measure 3X3? I don't care what the wife thinks (hehe) Regardless, I need a source for the replacement decal whatever the size. Anybody got a scoop?

Respectfully,

Dude... I'm glad you you enjoyed the game. It really clicked with some of us (yourself included) but the corporate guysdidn't see it.

Concerning the part, I don't think that is the part I am looking for. I bet a junk yard will have what I need.

Keep the faith,

Cadillac

Not sure what it's called or where to get, but here's what it's supposed to look like.

I looked and can't see where the other part listed from Hawk's even goes.. ??

Well, that looks right but I do not have a shoulder harness persay. What I have (on a convertible mind you) is a lap belt with a hole for the should strap to hook into. The shoulder belt housing is actually a part of the touneau that covers the top when it's down. In other words, if you want to strap into the back seat, you attach the shoulder strap to the lap belt, click the belt into the receiver, and then pull the lap belt tight. Weird, I know.

In any case, I would settle for that piece of plastic trim in your picture. I bet it would work. Also, those leather seats look damn good. I'd love that updgrade.

I think that's the information I need. Thanks, shr00m!

This company most likely has any bird decal you could possibly need http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ .

Hmm.. Mine is a vert. I have the same belt setup coupes use, with the retractor just mounted in a different spot. The touneau cover opens and closes around the retractor so there is no need for the shoulder belt to disconnect from the lap belt.

Seems odd that they would change the belt design halfway through 91 (mine's a 92). You should post this over on the convertible forum and see what's up. Any chance your touneau cover was changed out to an older style hence the need to change the belts out (and possibly why your trim rings are missing?)

I think the problem was more that for every one of you guys that loved it there were 10 of us who hated it.

As a racing game, it was slow and the graphics weren't all that great. There were much better racing games on the market. The only part about it that was interesting was the online "community" aspect of it, but even that was poorly executed.

sounds like you had little luck winning on the game. For those of us that could really tune the game cars and get the hot parts it was alot of fun.

my best part of the game was the club aspect of it and getting to know each player. Winning turf wars was a blast and the few top dog awards i got. there was nothing like being the fastest at a track. Everyone wanted to see your stuff and race ya to see how you got the times. Westbrook was my track when i ran it perfect no one could touch me......and the best part of the game no cheats...if you couldn't drive it someone else could.

it was a great game if you like the idea of building what you wanted rather than running a coarse to get a new part that everyone could get. the combinations you could create to go fast was the fun of it. i enjoyed it and alot of people did there are still people ranting that they want it back. i would be one of the first to sign up if it was to be released.

good example Seen Caddy and this ~ and i knew it was him. How many people do you remember from the game that you enjoyed talking and racing with? Ea created the 50's again with cruising and street racing. something that i could not have lived at my age or could do now with the new laws and such.

anyway good luck finding that part caddy and welcome to the board

Winning wasn't the problem, I used to win all the time. The game just wasn't fun. If I wanted to have a community where I could talk trash, swap parts and race cars, I'd come to thirdgen and go to my local track.
