How To Attach Rear Hatch Louvers?

Ok, so I figure you take the hinge bolts out and put them through the top louver, but how do you keep the sides and tail of the louvers secured down? Clips or ????

My question is where can you find them? I've looked around and can't seem to find any sets for my 86 firebird, although it looks like it had them at one time since there is no real weather stripping on the back window.

Only places I know that sell them is through hawks or fbodymotorsports and they want like 299 for a set of them.

It depends on the type you have. The factory sets have clips that attach to the window frame. The louvers then attach to the clips. The top clips have 2 screws each attached to them so the louvers get a hinge screwed on. There are 2 clips at the top, 2 on each side and 2 on the glass at the bottom. The two on the bottom secure to the glass with double sided tape.

I had a set of aftermarket years ago that required a metal strip be attached to the top of the glass by removing the hatch screws. The metal strip had screws in it for the louvers to connect to. There were also a couple clips on the window frame to secure the sides and bottom.

It depends on the type you have.

My advice is to attach the louvers to your garbage can, but that's just my opinion. They're way '80s.

I'm way 80's myself, namely vintage 1980. I'm not throwing myself away, nor my louvers.

My louvers are stock 92 heritage edition and they are held on down the sides by two quarter turn screws on each side

Hey Ukraine Train... did you forget to notice that your car is also one of those 80's trends. Are you going to throw it away also?
I could use the parts.
