gta leather seats (stinky)
the car was sitting in a barn for a year. just got her out.
had some fungus or something growing on the seats especially the back. some of it even got on the carpet around the center console.
It also has a **** smell too it. Like when you leave a wet towel lying around for too long.
Is there a any way to get rid of the smell or is it stuck in the foam?
I'm doing a cleaning on the weekend on the whole interior.

Best advise I could give - Don't waste the time on trying to get the smell out of the old ones. Get a set of 4thgen leather seats. They are almost the same design as your original ones and you can usually find newer ones with little/no damage or smell.
Its a bit of money, but its worth it.

Alcohol kills that smell, but Ive never tried it on leather. Clean the carpet with whatever detergent you prefer (I recomed Tuf-Stuff) and with the rug still wet spray some alcohol over it. Let it drie and smell it if it still stinks spray some alcohol again. Do this once a day every day till the smell goes away. Ive only done it once but it worked. Now for the leather I dont recomend spraing it with alcohol for it might damage it. Maybe some one else can coment on this.

at first i was thinking beer. yeah the smell of spilled beer will over-power the smell of **** and mold... or just make one big smelly baby.I just used Febreze before I went to work, and after I got home from work every day, and kept the windows unrolled all night (on nights it wasnt going to rain) and in about 3 weeks it smells allright. I dont know how effective that would be w/ leather seats though.
If you've got skills with upholstering, i'd imagine you could take off the leather, and use a specialty vacuum thing that sprays water and then it'll suck the water back up (I'm sorry i forgot what it's called, it's similar to a steam cleaner i think). This thing also helped me out a ton, it was the final undoing for my smells. It gets water deep into the foam, and then you quickly suck up the water, and it brings the dirt (carrying the bad smells) out.
Very tedious, but if you are desperate and determined....

I think some alcohol should work. It evaporates quick so it won't soack the smell in any deeper plus it will kill the fungus.

When My seats get molding in the winter months I do a 1 to 10 soultion of bleach & whipe them down with a cloth & then wash them with leather cleaner.
That **** smell is from Mice being in the car, you might want to take off all your paneling & get any droppings out of there.
