Removed Emblem, how re-apply?
I removed the "Z28 25th Anniversary" emblem on the dash and apparently once you remove it, that black double sided tape won't go back on.
I removed the black double sided tape from it so now it's just the plastic emblem.
I tried regular Double Sided foam tape and it would not even stick at all. In fact, the weight of the emblem dropped right off.
The tape I used was NOT 3M. Usually (I believe) emblem tape is 3M is it not? Anyone know exactly what double sided tape I need to buy to stick it back?
Thanks very much.

You can also use weatherstripping adhesive if they don't have the stuff posted above. Get the black stuff not the green stuff (if you have a choice).

Don't use that 3M emblem adhesive on a painted GM emblem. The chemicals in the adhesive that disolve the plastic in the bonding process will eat the painted backing of the emblem, in effect destroying it. Go to a parts store that actually has a body section, or go to a body shop supply store and get 3M emblem tape, its thinner and MUCH stronger than normal double sided tape. Not to mention its black.

Actual 3m double sided tape will work good I dont know about that emblem stuff though. I put my exteriors back on with the outdoor use double sided tape. just check out Home Depot and it will be an easy find. I've been doing an alum dash kit and it seems to be sticking on very easy with some clear silicone as well, either one would be a good bet!

Try uing the 3m tape for trim pices. It is red i belive it holds on the molding on the doors so you dont get dents.

Get the 3M emblem tape at Walmart. It's dark brown/black with red plastic tear off. Stuff works very good. Make sure to clean both areas with alcohol before sticking it on.

Black gasket silicone actually worked pretty nice on mine. I just put a Z28: 5.0 HO badge on the dash, and it worked pretty good. Just spready it like peanut butter on the back of the emblem, and stick it on.
If you do though, you might wanna leave a window partly open... that **** stinks!
