'91-'92 needs fixed
I ran across a deal on a couple '91-'92 Firebirds the other day. They are both V6 auto and wrecked. The teal one is hit lightly in the rear and has a messed up quarter. It runs, drives, has clean title, nice interior, 86,000 miles. The green one hit a pole or something. Nice interior very straight from the windshield back. I was thinking I could buy them, cut them at the windshield posts and the floorpan to the rear jamb, then put the green rear on the teal front and have a nice little T-top cruiser. I'm sure I can get both cars and all parts for less than $1000. What do you guys think? Is it worth messing with?

I'd find out how long they've been sitting there. with all that grass around adn whatnot, rust would be one of my concerns. I'd just take the teal one and freshen it up and drive it around and worry about the t-tops thing later. Just my $.02. Power to ya if you decide to do it.

look for a car for sale not a junker and get your parts there at the yard. i would not think they could be mated together reasonable and have a good driver. who knows what parts are even left on it and jy grabs are ruff on the wiring and such that i bet it would be very difficult to put one together from those 2

What you want to do is called sectioning. It is done, but not often due to the complexity of doing it correctly, and is far out of reach for a driveway job.

I'll do all the work myself. I can have the car together and ready for paint in a week. As far as cost to do it, paint and supplies $300. Everything is there and accounted for . These were the owner's brother's project. They decided not to do it. The hardest part about sectioning a car is the disassembly and reassembly of the interior. Really nothing to it.
