HVAC controls on 87 TA

Can the HVAC controls on a base trans am/firebird (two sliders) be converted to the GTA HVAC controls (all buttons)? What all would need to be replaced besides the unit? Also I think mine has gone out, what is the most common cause of death? I slide mine and hear hissing and noises like it wants to work but nothing is blowing out of the vents on any setting. Thanks.

I don't really know how to help you...but I had an HVAC question as well; where is the vacuum hose hooked to in the engine bay? Anyone?

As far as your question; what "GTA" HVAC control are you talking about? The ones in the 88 or so GTAs that came with the digital dash and stuff?
