LCD mirror compass
I just snagged one from the Junkyard and I need to know the exact procedure to calibrate it. This one has a LCD dispaly in lthe upper right corner and a little cylinder near the base with a button you press. When u hold it down the cal indicator comes on but it you hold it longer u get a 0 with a line and then a 0 with an x.
I know you have to drive around it a slow cirlce but if someone has this mirror with the instructions that would be great!!

If this came off of a late model GM truck (which it sounds like it did judging by your compass calibration attempt), go to www.fullsizeschevy.com and do a search.
My father just retrofitted that mirror into his truck and had to do the calibration, but I don't remember the exact procedure. Doing a search on fullsizechevy.com should give you all the info you need though.

when we had our 99 silverado we had to do it once. I think all we did was drive around in a circle a few times to calibrate it . Like in a parking lot . Just drive around in a circle or two .

one step of the procedure that I do remember is that you're supposed to do the circle at under 5mph.
