Gauge ?
My glass/clear plastic that goes over the face of the gauges is cracked and stained and i cant seem to find anyone selling just this piece wo the gauge cluster itself would it hurt anything for me to just take out the "cover" and leave the gauges open??? does the cover serve any kind of function as a shield or can i just have the gauges open and keep them dust free...i think it would be sweet wo the glass/plastic cover...
please enlighten me

As far as I know the only functional purpose it serves is protecting the faces of the gauges, I've had mine appart a few times. Might have to fiddle with the screws is all.
Used gauge clusters shouldn't be too expensive, you usually get the whole thing.

Well more of what im getting at is if i just remove the cracked cover and then put it all back together with the gauges open to where you could put you finger in and touch the needles (i wouldnt just saying) would it screw anything up over time??? or hurt anything soon after???
I would of course be keeping them very clean dusting them once a week atleast (i think that cover just shields them from dust and debris)

yes all the cover does is shield it from dust and debree but if you remove it you will be cleaning it every time you roll your window down because not just a very small amount of dust will get into them all the possible dust and debree in your car will make its way into the cluster and then when trying to clean them without any protection you can possibly break a needle or bend one ...if it were me id just replace the cluster or get another cluster from a junk yard and replace the lens..
