My windows "puff out" at high speeds
I'm guessing due to pressure being decreased outside of the cabin... Anyway, the window, moreso drivers side, sticks about 1/4" to 3/8" outward overlapping the weatherstrip when I am on the highway. It howls like crazy and sucks in coooold michigan air. What should I adjust first?

The window stops! Pull your door panel off and there two white (atleast on my car) stops at the top of the door just untighten them and adjust so the window sits tighter at the weatherstripping and then retighten.

i pulled the window stop out because i thought it might help, but it didn't. so technically the window is up as "high as it goes"

What kind of shape are your external "window sweeps" in? These are the rubber strips along the top edge of the door that are felt backed and press against the window on the outside (they also have a metal component that helps keep the window from moving around so much). I know when I first got my '84 the windows did just what you descibe and the window sweeps had actually been removed by a previous owner (I'm assuming to perform the lousy paint job that's on the car). Once I installed a new set of these my windows did not "puff out" at speed (used to starting at about 45 mph) and were also noticibly more stiff when wiggled with the door open. This also lead to the windows not banging around so much when closing the doors. Just a thought, your problem could be something else, but I'd check into that. Good luck!
