sand em. striper will destroy the urathane, use high grit papers like 220 320 no 80 grits it will also ruin the bumper cover.

Stripper is OK for urethane, as a matter of fact, they even make "urethane safe" stippers. But a heads up, it WILL appear distorted which is probably what Jeff was refering to. But once you clean it off and let it fully dry, the cover will go back to shape in about 24-36 hrs.

Also don't forget that if you take it down to bare plastic, there is an additional step before the primer.

Jeff, any problems with flex additive? Older versions had a tendancy to fade faster. I haven't used any as a result. I have found that most modern paints are very flexible out of the can.

Just thought I'd ask how it went. My nose needs to be repainted now, because between a parking mishap and the crappy single layer of paint with no flex agent that the last owner used, the stuff comes off on your fingernail...

Ditto.. my car's going in to see Earl Scheib in a little while, and I want to do all of the prep work correctly. What/where do I get a flex agent? Should all of the polyurethane be sanded down? What needs to be done to get the paint job to last for a while and still look good?
