Yes,you can do it!!!!!!
All you will need to do is just swap out the impact steel plate and just about everything that attaches to the bumper and the turn signals should be easy to move around too!

is urs a 2 seater? or a conversion convertible since they didn't offer a factory vert. on the t/a in 85...just curious if it's one of the ones done out of house as a dealer option.

No the Trans AM ground effects do not line up w/ the base model/Formula nose.
Edit: You're sayin you have a 91/92 Formula nose? I'm not 100% sure about that, but if you have an 85-90 formula nose, you'll have holes in your fenders because you have to remove the GFX.

yeah the formula that I was looking at in the wrecking yard appered to be a base model because it dident have ground effects.
Are all the formula nose cones the same?
Do I have any other options here? Its going to look pretty funny without gfx on the fenders but gfx everywhere else. Can I trim the gfx on the fenders or do they just not line up at all.
Any info is apprecated
85f-bird
Yeah it it was origionally a coupe but it was converted in a shop where they welded basically a frame underneath the car connecting connecting the subframes and bars running from back wheel to front wheel. Overall it is quite rigid

There were two different types of 91-92 bumper covers. The one in the picture looks like a Trans Am type while the Formula type has no foglights or GFX.
It would be better off if you found one off a T/A or base Firebird with Sport Appearance Package and the fender GFX pieces that go along with it.

O.k so the base firebird and the t/a with the sport apperence packages both would have the same gfx and nose cone?
How common are these as in what are the odds of finding one in the wrecking yard?
thanks

B]How about this nose cone is this a t/a with the sport apperence package?[/B]
On the sport apperence package ta would all the gfx be different? hight, width and styling so it would look funny with just the fender gfx from the sport apperence ta....
Dose anyone make an affordable aftermarket nose cone?
Thanks

You're also gonna have to grind off the lip on the headlight bezel to get the lights to close with the 91-92 nose.

I'm sure it would be easier to find an 85-90 Trans Am, 87-90 GTA, or 85-90 Firebird w/ the ground effects (aka sport appearance package).
Mine is a base model 'bird w/ the package (pretty much a V6 bird w/ the T/A GFX)

Your nose piece should have 5 studs in it to hook to the fender..correct?
The 91/92 "Banshee" nose only has 4, so there is another stumbling block.
You can make any 3rdgen part fit any year 3rd gen...but sometimes it takes way more work than it is worth or you want to put into it.

If you don't need that 91-92 base model nose, you should buy it from the junkyard anyway and sell it on eBay. They only made those for the two years, new GM ones are like $600 and they sell used for about $200-300 on eBay.
