Does anyone have tinted tails

I did a search and found a couple of third gens with tinted tails. I was wondering if anyone that has them had them done professionally and not vht. There is a site called www.smokinlights.net and they are very popular on the grand prix forum has anyone used them for thier thirdgen tail lights?

You can buy a can of VHT Nite-Shades for 10 buck from summit and do it yourself... or you can buy the plastic black outs which i think would look better overall.

If you want Firebird Tailights, try and get a set of 1991-1992 T/A or GTA tailights, they are the BOMB!... and they have a look to them that makes them look Tinted...

Yep! I did these myself with some 1500 grit sandpaper, a can of VHT Niteshades and some 3M rubbing compound.

I tried taillight covers for a while, but didnt like them that much.

The only really good looking blacked out tail lights were on the 79-81 TA's...from the factory no less.

Hey RC isn’t that illegal your brake light not being red? I know it is here in Virginia. We can change the color of all our lights except for brake lights. But it still looks good just curious though.

Thanks! Yeah, I was at Gemmens a few times this summer, but usually not for very long. Kind of an older crowd. I usually split my time between cruising 28th between Burlingame and the East Beltline, or crusing around downtown GR (Ionia, Ottawa, Pearl and Bridge).

actually the lights were red, the camera just saw it blue since it was red light going throught a black surface, to my eye it was red but to the camera it was blue.... hence notice the third break light was still red but the rest wasn't...

but cops and my step-dad ahrred me about it so i had to remove the black out.

No I wish I did. When the guy painted my car he did this on his own, called it his "special treatment" but I dont imagine it would take too much base since it's just tinting.

Yeah, I think that'd look really good on a black bird
