I need to replace the one in the '91 , so thats good to know. Does anyone know if a hatch release from a 4th gen will work, I'm sure they're a lot easier to find. Chris

I took out my hatch motor have the lock welded in down position. Now I can open and close my hatch much faster and easier.

Nope 4th gen is different, and 91 both styles were available the early and the late 91-92. So you'll have to look at yours before buying a replacement.
