Cargo shade mounts

I was thinking about getting the cargo shade for my '82 TA and was wondering if all I need are the mounts? Mine didn't come with the shade cover from the factory. Are there any differences between years? I know that there are differences between the '82-'84's compared to '85-'92. I saw some mounts on Ebay and I'm sure they are from a later model 3rd gen. Do they just screw to the cargo panels or were their holes in the pannel already? If anyone has pics of thier cargo shade I'd like to see it for reference, prefably from '82-'84's.

Thanks.

I think the mounts would be the same. There is a hole cut in the panal as well as a tab behind the panal that the mount is screwed to.

On the backside of the plastic interior panels you'll find the round circle cut-outs for the cargo shade. There are some metal brackets that are spot welded to the body. I'm not sure if all cars get them. The brackets are the same from 82-92 so you can get some from the junkyard.

The plastic "mounts" that screw to the metal brackets did change. The early style where just plastic. Around 85 or 86 some rubber bumpers were added to prevent rattles. Both styles are interchangable.

There are two different style shades. The first design is vinyl. The later is cloth. I'm not sure of the change over but the vinyl version is correct for 82.

Don't forget the catch on the hatch as well for the shade to "hang" on.

I have all the parts to hang the shade, but my T/A didn't come with the mounts in the body panel. Guess I will have to cut them out of the bone yard and spot weld them in.

Jim.
