4th Gen Door Handles

I read a post where someone claims that a 4th Gen door handle will fit a 3rd Gen. They look like it might, has anyone ever done this, or did I read the post wrong?

exterior handles bolt in with zero modification. my friend buddy did them, which is prolly where you saw them. search for user 67 camaro 88 i think is the screen name he uses.
