why do you even want to change it out. id say leave it in there. Did you change out the blower motor to the non A/C one? If you did then there will only be 3 speeds on it now for the heat. The blower motor that comes on A/C cars has 4 speeds, therefore you would have to leave the HVAC controls in your car if you removed the A/C but kept the blower motor. If you took the 4 speed blower motor out and now want to put it back in then you will have to make some modifications to the fan and or the box.

im just gonna change the face plate on it thats all, i really dont care, but if it was my way i would have changed all the ductwork to cable controled to make it a true NON A/C car. but its way too much work to do out in the cold here. so im just gonna switch the face plate just to sooth my OCD... lol... but cant i just plug in the blower onto the old harness? im still waiting for the dam thing to come in the mail so i havent got a chance to play with it yet

FWIW I left all of my old controls in, replaced the blower box (evaporator box) with a non a/c one like you did. If you just remove the small surround panel on your control panel, it will remove all of the a/c lettering and then you just put the non-a/c surround over it and use the original controls. I think your car is the same, anyway, it worked for me w/out changing out all of the controls which looked like a PITA. BTW my car is an 83

Just change the resistor in the blower box. The A/C one has an extra terminal for 4 speeds. No need to cut the wires going to it or change to the non A/C connector. You should use the non-A/C motor, it's shorter than the A/C one.
