Yes I actually did THAT myself... just couldn't get the pic posted

In Photoshop I just layered the different parts in the panel and then started channelmixing and adjusting curves and such... and then BINGO!! Instant color change!

So tell me which one you like or your own idéas on what would make the panels shine. This is not my pic or car but I have the same on my, plane grey. Would like to spice it up a bit.

Think 3.1EyeCandy:s look awsome Is that red part leather?? If so.... SLICK!!

Yeah, I like that one too. My favorites are 1, 5 and 3. I only tried the other variations due to practical reasons. For example I've left the handles grey in some because i think the color would wear off quite quickly here. So I'm thinking of leaving them as they are, and don't think it would look too bad like this. Same for the whole panel. Don't know if it will wear off.
Has anyone colored doopanels like this? Will the color "stick"? If it does what paint did you use?

number 3 is the way to go i think. it matches the rest of the interior much better than the red does.

# 7 or 3 because it would flow with your interior

Yes but I'm gonna make changes to the interior as well. Was thinking of introducing more red to it, the centerconsole for instance. and perhaps some chrome rims around the gauges and chrome shiftknob and such. Then a silver colored "handle" part of the door would go really great with that.

Has anyone painted doorpanels or other plastic parts? Can't afford real black interiors so this is my only choice.

it's actually pleather in red. The door panels were originally red, but were dyed black, then the cloth section redone in pleather. Total cost for both was about 300 bucks.

Never heard of or saw red doorpanels as a stock option. Is there such a thing? How were they dyed black exactly? What is that part of the panel made of anyway? I thought it was plastic. Can that be dyed? Is pleather like imitation leather?

Red interior was an 87-only GTA option, no other years got'em. The panels are made of a plastic/hard vinyl substance that I suspect the shop I took it to just used plenty of upholstery paint on. And yes, pleather is imitation leather.

This one's my personal favorite too! But with three different colorthemes it would entail alotta (Fagina) interior changes as well to make it match and complement each other.

It's crude I know but bare with me. The rims are supposed to be chrome, like the doorhandles and partly the shiftknob... possibly the handbrake lever... not sure about that yet.

I agree, it looks too ***** to me. I think when you try to use any bright colors on the interior, you have to do it very carefully and sparingly. I think it just looks cheap. When you just rattle can a bunch of your panels bright red, it looks crappy.

Way too much red everywhere IMHO.

Maybe... but it's very hard to tell how it's going to look in real life just on this crappy photoshopped pic. Sometimes the line between what's tasteful and awful can be VERY slim. I see before me a bling bling image of how this can look good.

Too much red, if anything use the red as a MILD accent. Paint the rings around the guages red. Not the chrome ones, the sides of the guage bezel behind the clear plastic.

Did a couple more pics.... one with more red. and i added my favorite thirdgen interior
One thing I'm certain of is the rims around the gauges. I'm definately going to manufacture those coz they look killer. How much red (if any) I will use I haven't decided yet.
