headlight switch!

headlight switch!

ok this is really annoying me...i cannot get this freakin thing out...

Ive read from other threads there is a switch under it and the metal rod will pop out??? i cant find this

There is like no room to see

so if ANYONE can help me get this out it would be much appreciated lol

btw its a 92 if the year makes a difference.

I think if you twist the rod one way or another and pull hard enough, it'll come out. I broke mine before I figued this out, so don't take my word for it, but I know for sure that the rod comes out.

crawl under it and look there is alittle metal peice you have to push towards the rear of the car to spread it out to let it side off

there is a little metal button that you push on the right side of the switch, you can only see it from underneath. you have to feel around for it cause the guage face doesnt come out far enough to get a good look at it. its annoying but not that hard. good luck.

ok! got the switch out

now to pull out the guage cluster together is it possible to do without removing the steering wheel?

Seems to be a tight fit and im not trying to break anything i just wanna know if its possible first?

and maybe from what angle u guys pulled it out...

I was wondering if this is a common issue with F-body light switchs. When I bought the car the headlight switch was basicly dangiling, if that makes sense. In other words, I can pull the lights on, but to push them off I have to hold the back of the switch for leverage. I will eventually replace the switch but Im a little concerned that the plastic piece that it attaches to may be broke. I was wondering if this is common among f-bodies?
