if u can get to the back side it will work great. Have a friend hold a dolly over it. So u don't hit it up to far. Don't want it to start tin canning. If u can not get behind it. U can use pull rods.kinda hard to see in the pic.Get the metal as stright as u can and than use a slim coat of filler
How important is the hood on this car? Based on the answers you are getting from people, I would say that it's not really very important. Do not get behind it and push it out yourself unless you understand the physics of metal movement. If you push in the wrong place, you can make the damage worse and cause the metal to stretch, causing the oil canning effect.
A paintless dent removal technician can remove this dent for you and you should not notice the dent was ever there. Dents don't just pop out. The fact that the impression stayed after the impact means that the metal has a slight stretch to it and the edges of the dent are holding it in.
People comment all the time how easy it looks to remove a dent perfectly by a PDR tech. That's because we know how to do it. If we didn't, it wouldn't look so easy. If the car is junk, feel free to "hit it out" as you stated. If you care about the metal and the finish, have it professionally fixed. PDR won't require any filler or paint.
If you want, I might be able to set you up with someone in your area that does excellent work.

Wow thanks all of you...
ScottMoyer: Its not that important, just thought i could do it on my own. Now i understand and it would be great for you to set me up but maybe just telling me where would be fine.
