Making interior plastic like new?????
Making interior plastic like new?????
I recently changed my interior color from gray to black with new plastic instead of painted parts. The black parts I got though in very good condition still have the occasional scrape and nick that is right out there.
Is there a way of repairing these imperfections? I know Armoral or something similar will sort of shine everything up but the imperfections still stand out. Sanding, polishing, rubbing or whatever?
Thanks,
Jim

I know some of the deeper scrapes I've taken care of in plastic interior panels have been fixed by "flame polishing" them. Depending on how badly it's scratched, flame polishing might be right for you, but practice on a scrap piece first so that you know what's going to happen...
All you do it get a micro-torch type of lighter and keep moving closer and closer to the plastic panel until the plastic starts to gently melt itself back to the original plastic color, all while moving the lighter back and forth quickly...
