Get a rear view mounting kit at walmart or autozone. Its like $2 and has special glue that works great.

You really need to make sure you:
1. Clean off the window and bracket
2. Let the glue set for a long time- like 2-3 days in some cases
3. Some of the glues require moisture to set up so they say to leave a bowl of water underneath it and close the windows of the car.

if theres paint swapped onto ur car from another lacquer(sp) thinner will remove that. scuffs and light scratches can be removed by buffing. i recommend a buffer with wool and sponge pads along with compound. but be careful as you can easily burn thru the paint. if the scratches arent deep you may be able to get them out by hand with some rubbing compound. use good name products for this such as 3M, Mothers, Meguiers, etc....any other questions PM me i should be able to help out.

I suggest scuffing the area of the glass with some sand paper to give the glue something to work with. But be sure to do it only where the window button goes, and not anywhere else!....apparently the former owner of my car thought doing other areas would be a great idea
