I'm wanting to do my car interior with this stuff but I've heard some poeple say that it makes your car smell like asphalt.

Does anyone who's done this smell it?

I live in west texas where it can get into the 100's easy, so this is a concern of mine.

I'm also concerned about it peeling off vertical surfaces. I'm sure it gets extremely hot in my car in the sun in the summertime here in TX.

I used the Home Depot equivalent in my girlfriend's camry and there's absolutely no odor at all. I used hers inside the doors though, so it's possible that the smell just didn't work its way into the car. But... to be honest, I don't recall that product having any smell at all. It didn't smell in the package, and it didn't smell when I heated the hell out of it with the heat gun.

That's because the peel and seal isn't stopping the tail lights from vibrating, just the metal. Stick some to the backside of the tail lights, especially around the studs that go through the body panel, and any worn spots that indicate rubbing with the body.

Are you folks talking about ice and water shield that is used for roofing? Normally used under shingles in areas that don't have much of a slope.

Yup. It comes in 6" wide rolls that usually wind up getting put over plywood seams. It's essentially the same thing as the automotive sound damping materials although it's heat range isn't as good.

how big of a difference does it actually make in sound deadening if done properly though?

i want something thats easy to use and works well for cheap..... I'm going to por-15 my floorpans inside and out + probably use the lowes brand peal and seal. Would hate to waste a full days work on something not worth my time
