What's the trick?
I'm looking to swap my seat covers from one side to the other. How does a person get the head rest off? I'm doing this cause the left side of the drivers seat has the most wear. By swaping them it becomes the inside of the other seat which gets the least wear. Thanks in advance for any info. savoo

There's a hole drilled in the headrest flat bar post a few inches down from where you can see (with the headrest fully extended). There's a clip that goes into this hole as the headrest post comes up. You can shove a thin piece of metal (I used a unwrapped hose clamp) down the front side of the headrest post (with the headrest extended), then lower the extended headrest post and the hose clamp (or other thin metal) to get the thin metal to go down past the clip. Then, if everything was done right, you should be able to lift the headrest post right out.
For the install, you just slide the headrests back in (no thin metal needed).
Of course you realize that the headrest mounted seatbelt guides will be on the wrong side and you'll have holes showing on the inside of each headrest if you switch sides.

Sounds like alot of work to have to put an ugly cover on the passenger seat. I'd rather have the drivers side ugly since I don't have to look at it when I'm driving.

That's right, I don't have peripherial vision, I forgot.
PS I mean while sitting in the car, not necessarily while driving.
