Dash removal....

I was wondering if it was possible to remove the dash framework without having to remove the whole console? I am replacing my heater core and am having trouble getting the dash out.

Another question is once i do get that out how is the heater core bolted/connected to the inside of the fire wall?? Thanks for any help!!

Why are you removing the dash to replace the heater core? That is totally unnessessary.

There is an access panel on the heater box to remove the core.

1.Drain the coolant and disconnect the heater hoses at the fire wall.
2. Remove lower hush panel from bottom of passenger side dash.
3. Remove lower dash bolt just above kick panel.
4. Remove screws that mount the computer, lower the computer and set it aside
5. Remove the heater box access panel. There are four bolts. Three are pretty easy to get at. One of the top ones you'll have to feel for with your hand and use a long extention and ratchet to remove. Pull on the bottom of the dash where the dash mounting bolt was removed to get the access panel out from under the dash.
6. Remove the four screws holding in the heater core and pull it out of the heater box.

Reverse for installation
