changed my mind, now how do i remove epoxy
changed my mind, now how do i remove epoxy
i was going to mold the front and back bumpers to the body but after reading the posts here, i decided to back down from that project. Sadly, i already started on it.
so, heres a problem i created. I epoxyed rear the bumper on with 2 ton epoxy. I'm looking for best solution to undo this. Is there a chemical to break down the epoxy that will be safe on paint. Paint doesnt matter at this point, but still. I may try taking a very small drill bit, going with a rotozip, and cut out the glued on bumper. please help.

lmao, this is the third post i've seen where you have put obscure pictures in your reply, 83_Camaro_83.... u must be REALLY bored tonight
yeah. i was afraid of that. going to try a small rotozip drill bit and hope there is a big enough gap of epoxy to drill through. Maybe i could drill enough so there would be a gap but still be epoxied. Hoping to save the bumper.
My last resort is to destroy the bumper by cuting it up. Buying a used bumper is cheaper and less annoying then having it repainted again and again. I'm not planing on attempting this for a couple months yet. Too busy, and there are other things to be done to the project car, like making it run. Also, my project car at the moment lives in a different state then i do, which makes it a little hard to work on.
I'll let ya all know how this goes down though.

I wouldn't use a drill bit. I'd try a thin abrasive blade. You'll be sanding off the remaining epoxy and re-painting after the bumper has been separated, so saving the paint is not an option.
