Aluminum front crash bar

I,m looking for information on the aluminum front crash bars. What cars and years did they come on? Will they interchange between camaros and firebirds? Will they interchange between any year thirdgen? Are they worth the weight savings? What is the weight of these bars. and the weight of their steel counterparts???

Thx Meefy

Here are a few threads with info on them. They seemed to come on 82-84 camaros and TA's but apparently people have found them on other models. You can save 9 pounds off the front with the aluminum support.

Nice info never knew they even made aluminum bumpers on any models. But the next question...why only 82-84 or whatever other models...why some and not all?

I wonder how much more or less duriable these bumpers are in a crash too...

They were mainly found on the 4 cylinder cars, to make less work for the 90 HP Iron Duke.

Does any know if they are the same crash bar on camaros and
firebird? Will they interchange? Also, how much do you have to
modify them to fit a 91-92 formula nose?
