5 point harness in a non roll cage
Has anyone installed 5 point harness in 3rd gen without using a roll cage?
If so please enlighten.

y? it wouldn't be legal to race where the harnes is mandated

not only that, but it would be downright dangerous. If you just mount the shoulder harness to the floor behind the seat, when you get into an accident, it'll pull your shoulders down and compress your spine. If you're lucky it'll kill you, but if not, you better hope that somebody builds a car that you can control through a straw.

car is mostly for show. I know the required mounting locations and angles but am wondering if maybe someone fabbed a single tubular structure that would mount to the under carriage in some manner.

you cuold put in a 4-6 pt roll cage, that would make it safe and personaly i like the look of a cage in a car

I agree that it should not be mounted to the floor. I have built a harness bar that connects to the rear seatbelt mounts. This takes care of the problem of the angle, but if you roll the car you will still have a problem. I will be installing a 6 point bar next spring so that I can be safe on the road courses.

I installed one...but as stated above...it would be dangerous to use it...so..I just installed it for looks only.
