Wooshing sound in car at higher speeds.

When im at speeds above like 40 on my drivers side it sounds like i have my window partially open but its not, I looked the t-top over and it doesnt have any cracks or anything missing, is this sound normal for a 16 year old car, I am assuming it might be my t-top weather stripping, or a bad t-top somehow? has anyone else had this problem? thanks.

Could also be that someone removed the plastic sheet inside the door. That thing blocks a lot more noise than most people think.

you know it's coming from your door?

my rear tires make some decent noise at high speeds (the last ones I had on there did anyways... The bald ones I put on it are pretty quiet... lol)

But in the rain or any sort of dampness, it don't matter what kind of tires... It's whooshin.

other than that, yeah, it's pretty normal to hear wind noise coming from the t-tops, and not much you can do about it if your weatherstripping seems ok.

you can peel the a-pillar trim off and adjust the slots for the t-top slides to sit a little lower, hopefully that'll seal it up a little more.

i need to the same on mine

Check the windshield, the door weather stripping, the plastic triangle right by the mirrors, and the t-top weather stripping. Check em all for leaks. Its probably wind from outside getting through a crack or leak somewhere. I use water to find leaks, either from a hose or from a pressure washer sprayer. Force it and if it leaks fix it.

if you smoke a good trick is to hold the ciggarette close to the glass and around the weatherstripping (dont touch or it may melt, and dont touch it to your tinted windows) and watch to see if the smoke gets blown around.

my wind noise was solved by rmoving the front plastic window runchannel (plastic triangle) cleaning it with some dishsoap and reinstalling it tight. it reinstalls easily.

sometimes having a friend drive and you look for windnoise is a good idea.

removing the dashpad may make it easier to locate windnoise.

a surefire way is to drive through a carwash. bring a towel.

If it's coming from under the hood, then check to see if someone installed a turbo when you weren't looking.....

Hi new 3rd Gen owner here. Mostly been a first gen guy.
Anyway, i get the same loud wind noise from my t tops, over 30mph. It appears that the drivers side t top, doesn't quite sit flush with the steel upper windshield frame, but where it locks down it appears flush. There is no actual wind coming into the drivers compartment.
I believe the t top sitting slightly higher than the windshield frame causes this. Is there any way to adjust this? It looks like the weatherstripping is too thick. I'm afraid to try and dead blow it down, i think it might hurt the lexan.
